International Telecommunications Union: ITUI50 Awards Call for Nominations

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD)
, celebrated each year on 17 May, marks the anniversary of the signature of the first International Telegraph Convention in 1865, which led to the creation of the International Telecommunication Union. On the occasion of ITU's 150th Anniversary, ITU150 Awards are being launched to recognize individuals past and present from government, ICT industry, academia, and civil society that have contributed to improving lives of world citizens through ICT innovations developed, promoted or implemented by ITU.

The Laureates will be recognized with the ITU150 Awards at a special event to be organized in Geneva on 17 May 2015 on the occasion of ITU's 150th Anniversary. An ITU150 Awards Board will be established to review the nominations and select the Laureates.

Timeline

  1. 19 January: Launch of the ITU150 Awards
  2. 15 March: Deadline for nominations
  3. 1 April: Results are communicated to winners
  4. 17 May: Winners are announced to the public

Submissions

Prior to submissions, ITU Membership is invited to consult the rules and guidelines for the nomination process.

Please, submit nominations for the ITU150 Awards before 15 March 2015!

Submissions are for ITU Members only (TIES username/password is needed).
