Miss World Bahamas in “Head to Head” Challenge

Bahamas called on to support its queen by voting her into the Miss World semifinals

Nassau, THE BAHAMAS – Miss World Bahamas Geena Thompson is in the midst of an international battle to capture a spot in the Miss World semifinals and she is calling on Bahamians everywhere to support her with their votes. Geena is in China competing for the Miss World title, where for just under 2 weeks she and her fellow competitors have been touring the country and partaking in preliminary competitions. The 24-hour “head to head” challenge is the newest Miss World prelim which pits six countries against each other for one coveted spot. A video of the head to head challenge in which Geena appears can be found on Youtube HERE.

The vote officially closes on Thursday, November 2 at 1:30 p.m.

While Geena is up against several countries with far larger populations than The Bahamas, she is confident that she will do well in the challenge because of the sheer magnitude of Bahamian pride.

“If the Bahamas rallies behind me, there is no stopping us!” she exclaimed. “We’ve seen time and time again how Bahamians can cause posts to go viral on social media. I’m hoping for that level of support. We may be a small nation, but our Bahamian pride is larger than life!”

The Miss World finale will be held on November 19 in Sanya, China. Miss World Bahamas is competing against delegates from 120 countries in the world’s largest beauty pageant.
