Nassau, The Bahamas - The four year partnership between BTC and the Bahamas Swim Federation is now its final year, and both entities are looking forward to another stellar performance at the CARIFTA Swim Championships in Jamaica this week. It all started four years ago, when BTC took a dive with the BSF to provide opportunities for hundreds of Bahamian swimmers to be compete fiercely throughout the region.

In the last four years, The Bahamas has won the CARIFTA games three times. BSF President, Algernon Cargill expressed his gratitude to BTC saying, “The four-year partnership with BTC has been the foundation of our success. During our partnership we’ve won CARIFTA three out of four years and we hope to repeat as champions again this year. Our athletes have not had to worry about funding because of the kindness of BTC. We’ve used our energy to focus on representing The Bahamas at the highest level and we are looking forward to defending our CARIFTA crown. The entire team is ready and anxious to swim in Jamaica.”

In 2017, The Bahamas was the host for the games and BTC broadcasted the games live. BTC has invested over $240,000.00 in the Federation during this partnership.

BTC CEO, Dexter Cartwright said, “We have enjoyed a great relationship with the BSF. We were proud and pleased to support the dreams of so many young Bahamian swimmers and we are looking forward to Team Bahamas keeping the crown.”

Team Bahamas leaves later this week to compete in Jamaica.
