Commander Defence Force meets with RBDF Veterans Association

Coral Harbour Base, (RBDF): In keeping with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s intent of improving the quality of life for retirees and veterans through the Veteran’s Affairs Office and collaboratively with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Veteran’s Association (RBDFVA), members of the association paid a courtesy call at Defence Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive on December 2, 2020.

Led by the president of the Veteran Association, Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Harold Bosfield, and his committee members, the visit coincided with the observance of their first anniversary. Officially established on November 11th as a non-profit organization, the association seeks to encourage and foster comradeship, provide an avenue for bringing members together and keeping in touch with past members.

Commodore King listened to the concerns and assured members of the association that the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to work with them to provide relief from conditions of need, hardship, or distress. Also, in attendance was Lieutenant Commander Judy McDonald, RBDF Veteran Affairs Officer.

Chaplain of the association, Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Samuel Rolle provided names of past members who were experiencing medical challenges and asked that the force continue to pray for their wellness.

The RBDF Veterans Association continues to lend support to Veterans and former comrades who have also been impacted by the COVID pandemic. The morale and welfare of members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force remain a priority.
