URCA: Consultation on BTC’s amended Reference Access and Interconnection Offer

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (“URCA”) issues this Notice in accordance with section 11 of the Communications Act, 2009. Further to URCA’s Final Determination (ECS 19/2016) on the required changes to BTC’s Reference Access and Interconnection Offer (RAIO), BTC submitted its amended RAIO to URCA for its review and final approval. The amended RAIO can be downloaded from URCA’s website at http://www.urcabahamas.bs/download/030674000.pdf. URCA invites and welcomes written comments from interested parties regarding the amendments set out in the revised BTC RAIO.

The timelines for submitting comments and URCA’s final review and approval are set forth below:

  •     Interested parties may submit comments to URCA on BTC’s RAIO amendments on or before September 19, 2016.
  •     URCA will provide BTC with copies of all responses received.
  •     BTC may submit comments to URCA on the responses received on or before September 26, 2016.
  •     Upon review of all comments URCA will indicate BTC’s compliance or otherwise with URCA’s Final

Determination (ECS 19/2016) in the shortest practicable timeframe.

All written comments should be submitted to URCA by 5:00 p.m. on September 19, 2016 and addressed to: URCA’s Acting CEO & Director of Electronic Communications, either:

  •     by hand, to URCA’s office at Frederick House, Frederick Street, Nassau; or
  •     by mail to P.O. Box N-4860, Nassau, Bahamas; or
  •     by fax, to (242) 323-7288; or
  •     by email, to info@urcabahamas.bs.
