Eleven Cuban migrants apprehended on Anguilla Cay, Bahamas

Coral Harbour Base, 1 Dec 15 (RBDF):  Acting on information received from Operations Bahamas Turks and Caicos Island (OPBAT) eleven Cuban migrants were found on Anguilla Cay in the Cay Sal Bank area on Monday by Her Majesty's Bahamian Ship Rolly Gray.

At about 1 p.m. on Monday, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Operations Center was informed of suspected migrants on Anguilla Cay. HMBS Rolly Gray, which was on routine patrol at the time, was then diverted to investigate the report. Upon arrival at Anguilla Cay, eight Cuban males, three Cuban females were found ashore.The Cubans were subsequently apprehended and will be transported to Nassau where they will be handed over to Immigration authority.

The Royal Bahamas Defence remains committed to “Guarding Our Heritage” and the sovereignty of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
