Nu Face finalists

Season
two of Nu Face Model Search is well underway. Six finalists have been
chosen: Alshandra Rolle (Nassau), Philincia Cleare (Nassau), Leverne
Palacious (Nassau), Shequera ‘Grace’ King (Freeport, G.B), Jenelle
Hollingsworth (Freeport) and Tamara Wiltshire (Grand Bahama).
In
the past few weeks the finalists have participated in photo shoots in
Freeport Grand Bahama (the Lucayan Caves), Harbour Island (on Bahamas
Ferries) and in Nassau. They have made various commercials for sponsors,
and have participated in the ‘Hair to Infinity’ hair show and fashion
extravaganza held May 15th at the British Colonial Hilton
in Nassau.
The
models have had training in basic self- defense at All Star Academy
with Sensei Rahming and were treated to a final dinner at Provence Restaurant
in Sandy Port.
The
top two finalist will be chosen in June and participate in a final photo
shoot in July for the Fall 2011 cover of Nu Woman Magazine. Two local
designers (Theodore Elyett and Sabrina Sturrup) will make dresses for
the top two finalists.

good news, two Nu Face finalists from Freeport- Jenelle Hollingsworth
and Shequera ‘Grace’ King have been chosen to participate in Caribbean
International Fashion Week this June in New York.

Major
sponsors of the show are Bahamas Ferries, Sky Bahamas, Mac Cosmetics,
Pelican Bay at Lucaya, Hair International Salon and Spa, Renee’s Beauty
Salon, La Belle Beauty Salon, Splashdance, Bandolera, KJO Crochet Designs,
Erykah Monique, SS Designs, Garden Well Spa, and All Star Academy.
The
show airs this summer on Cable 12, PTV8 (Turks and Caicos) and Carib
Vision. Judges on the show include Erica Meus-Saunders (executive producer,
host), Pia Rolle, Scherlin Major, Nestaea Sealy, and Karen Johnson.
Co-hosting the show is Theodora Cartwright.
