Coral Harbour Base, (RBDF): Six technicians from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force recently returned home after successfully completing a 3-week Motorola Training course in Schaumburg, Illinois, U.S.A.

Taught by US engineers during the period of 17th February - 6th March 2020, this advanced class was conducted at Motorola Solutions Learning Center. Some of the topics covered included: Networking Essentials; Mototrbo Portable and Mobile Train- the –Trainer, Mototrbo Subscriber Academy; Integrating different equipment through the turbo radio system; and Radio System Repair and Service Academy.

As a result of this training the Officer and Marines who participated are now certified service engineers for the Motorola system currently better utilized by the Defence Force. As the organization forges ahead with its decentralization mission, this system this will aid  in the nationwide expansion of the Motorola industry.

The RBDF technicians were introduced to the initial training phase of the Motorola System in 2017 in Plantation, Florida. This advanced training was made possible by the US through the Foreign Military Funded program.  Participants were introduced to enhanced troubleshooting of the system, and also trained to maintain the system.

This advanced two-way communications system training will ensure that the RBDF stays on the cutting edge of technology as the organization continues to guard our heritage. It also enhances the RBDF’s Communications capabilities throughout the Defence Force’s Area of Responsibility.
