Bahamas to host ITU’s Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR 17)

The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA), on behalf of The Government of The Bahamas, is pleased to extend this invitation for you to participate in the 17th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-17) from 11 – 14 July 2017, to be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort, Paradise
Island, Bahamas.
 
GSR is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and has earned a reputation as the global annual venue for ICT regulators, policy makers, industry leaders and other key ICT stakeholders to share their views and experiences on matters of mutual interest.  GSR-17 will be under the theme: “Living in a World of Digital Opportunities” and a dynamic programme has been planned which includes sessions on cybersecurity, digital financial inclusion, the social and economic impact of the digital revolution, international roaming and ICT access and affordability. There will be panel discussions, bilateral sessions and various presentations including the participation of the Secretary General of International Telecommunications Union, His Excellency Houlin Zhao. GSR-17 will begin with a pre-event on 11 July 2017 and will conclude on Friday 14 July 2017. GSR and its pre-event sessions are open to regulators, policy makers and members of ITU’s Development Sector on 11, 12 and 13 July 2017. On 14 July 2017, two parallel tracks will be held, a Regulators’ track, open only to regulators and policy makers, and an Industry track (ILD), open to ITU-D sector members. The conference will end on 14 July with a closing ceremony open to all participants. All participants must register to attend GSR-17.
