Eleuthera, Bahamas - The new Cove, Eleuthera will make its debut today with a celebration of Eleuthera and New Orleans, two places near and dear to the resort’s developer, Sidney D. Torres, IV.  Torres has homes in both locations and will treat guests to local music and food as he showcases the transformation of the 40-acre luxury resort.

An experienced hotelier, Torres bought the property in July and has worked tirelessly planning and executing what he has termed a “rebirth” of The Cove, Eleuthera, a mainstay of the island since it was first built in 1969.

The dramatic makeover, which involved a complete redesign of the original property’s 24-room resort into a luxury mix of cottages and suites has been complimented by Bahamas Prime Minister Perry Christie as a positive economic infusion for the island.  The Prime Minister has been invited to make remarks at The Cove, Eleuthera’s sunset grand opening event tonight.

For the last eight months, Torres has personally managed every detail, completing 60-rooms in 10 months with an additional 60 rooms scheduled to come online in the fall. Torres personally designed custom furniture and selected fine amenities such as Italian travertine marble for newly constructed suites.

“My heart and soul went into the rebirth of The Cove and what better way to celebrate its opening than with a celebration of the places I love most – my hometowns of Eleuthera and New Orleans,” Torres said.  “It was difficult yes, but impossible, never.”

New Orleans Grammy award-winning vocalist Aaron Neville will serenade guests at the exclusive, invitation-only affair.  The Dirty Dozen Brass Band of New Orleans and a traditional Bahamian Junkanoo will entertain guests as they tour the multi-million dollar makeover.

Torres spared no expense in his remake of The Cove, Eleuthera and is offering the use of his personal plane to fly guests from Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport to the island, as part of an exclusive amenity package.

Additional amenities include 500+ thread count bedding, iPod docking stations, 50” flat screen televisions, wireless internet access, in-room safes, Nespresso coffee makers and Molton Brown bath accessories.

Packages are available. For more information visit: thecoveeleuthera.com or call 888-776-3901.
