Nassau, The Bahamas - With many in The Bahamas uncertain about the nation’s fiscal state, Keshelle Kerr-Davis is focusing on providing today’s youth with the tools needed to succeed in tomorrow’s economy. Set for December 7 -8, 2014 at Mario’s Bowling and Entertainment Center in New Providence, the Kids Only Christmas Sale is indeed topical as The Bahamas prepares to implement Value Added Tax (VAT).

Kerr-Davis is at the forefront in financial literacy in the Caribbean, especially as it pertains to youth. A keynote speaker and presenter for over a decade, her book ‘Your Child Can Become Wealthy’ went on to become a local bestseller as her Creative Wealth company expanded as the voice to explain money matters to youth. She also serves as they youngest ever appointed executive director of The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Institute.

“This is now my sixth year doing this and this time it’s critical for kids and their parents to participate as the nation is implementing VAT,” said Kerr-Davis. “Parents and kids need to know now more than ever about money and how it works. They also need to know that as young business owners, there may be things they will have to consider when it comes to these economic changes.”

This year’s event will boast over 50 booths featuring youth-owned businesses, a parent’s corner, and a showing of the documentary ‘Startup Kids’.

The highlight will be guest speaker Gabrielle Jordan Williams who has won numerous awards since becoming a jewelry maker at seven, entrepreneur at nine, and published author/speaker at 11. Williams is the author of ‘The Making of a Young Entrepreneur: A Kid’s Guide to Developing The Mind-Set For Success’.

“I am excited to have Gabrielle join us this session,” said Kerr-Davis. “Sometimes, kids need to be motivated by seeing someone their own age or hearing it from someone not so much older than they are now. I am looking forward to what she will instill in the young people and at the same time what she will take away from her first visit as a presenter in The Bahamas.”
