FRIDAY DECEMBER 18TH, 2015 – 1PM UPDATE

Nassau, Bahamas – The Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) wishes to notify our valued customers and the general public that repairs on our failed water transmission main on Roberta Avenue (Ridgeland Park West) were completed early this morning in two (2) parts, one at approximately 1AM and the other at approximately 3AM.  Restoration of our water transmission and distribution systems commenced immediately thereafter with full restoration expected in most areas for the morning peak period.

Major difficulties having to do with original installation (circa 1992) were encountered that resulted in significant delays to completion of repairs. These challenges will have to be addressed on a more permanent basis at a later date.

WSC cannot over emphasize it's appreciation of staff who were persistent in making repairs and worked tirelessly for more than 20 hours to repair and restore supplies. We have enjoyed a significant reduction in major supply interruption events over the past few years and we sincerely apologise to our valued customers and the residents, businesses, pedestrians and motorists in the area for the inconvenience caused. Our sincere appreciation and thanks for your patience.

We will be in the area continuing to fine tune these temporary repairs and we are dedicated to permanently resolving this and other challenges in the shortest possible time. We will continue to keep our customers and the general public informed.

Any customer who is still experiencing low pressure and/or no water or any water quality challenge is urged to contact our Call Center at 302-5599 or email: help@wsc.com.bs.
