Official pageant photos of Yasmine Cooke, the new Miss Universe Bahamas

Nassau, New Providence - 25 year old, fourth year medical student from Nassau, Yasmine Cooke was crowned Miss Universe Bahamas 2017 on Sunday night at Atlantis, Paradise Island. First runner up was Tiasha Stewart of Grand Bahama Island. Second runner up was Azaria Clare, also of Grand Bahama.
When asked why she would pursue pageantry while studying medicine Yasmine responded, "The precision, refinement and dedication... As a medical student and future doctor I can take the lessons learned from pageantry into this professional arena." Yasmine is studying at the University of the West Indies.
The young queen says she is also passionate about hip hop dance and travel. Yasmine's sponsor is Island Luck and her platform is raising awareness of HIV/AIDS. She will represent The Bahamas in Las Vegas, Nevada at the 66th Miss Universe pageant on November 26.
