Nassau, Bahamas  - Bahamian Winter Olympian - Korath Wright was in The Bahamas, away from a busy training schedule toward the upcoming winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada in 2010, to celebrate the launch of the special edition KW.1 Carbon 14 watch designed in his honour!

Korath was on location at John Bull, 284 Bay Street on November 14th.

Carbon 14 is an active outdoor brand that incorporates respect for the environment, the spirit of adventure, and passion for contemporary design – available exclusively at John Bull, 284 Bay Street.

Carbon14’s mission focuses on the respect for the environment and being a catalyst for adventure with a passion for contemporary design. The brand name, also known as C-14, refers directly to the radiocarbon dating method, which determines the age of any organic elements.  Carbon14 also suggests carbon’s strength as the hardest element known to man and carbon’s role as a key element of all life. Time, durability and life are the foundations of Carbon14 and its belief in the link between the planet, the environment and the people.

Korath Wright, the first Bahamian Olympic Snowboarder, is the first addition to Carbon14’s brand ambassadors, a project created to encourage the brand’s slogan of “ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” After placing 11th in 2009’s Burton Canadian Open and rapidly climbing the ranks in the Burton Global Open Series, Korath Wright is setting up to be the first Bahamian athlete ever to participate in the Winter Olympics. He will be joining the Winter Games in Canada on February 2010 after having participated in the snowboarding World Cup in New Zealand.

“I am very excited to be a part of Carbon14’s efforts to promote an outdoor and environmentally friendly lifestyle,” says Korath. “The Carbon14 watches are a great fit for my active everyday routine. I love their style and how comfortable they are.”

Korath Wright was born in the island of Nassau (Bahamas). After some time there, he moved to Canada, where he went to school and picked up snowboarding at the age of 10. At 14 he began to compete in local pipeline events. Korath has moved steadily up the ranks and has earned titles such as Swiss National Champion, and placing 3rd at both the Junior Worlds and the World Cup event in Whistler, Canada.
