Hurricane Dorian Help Lands at LPIA in Nassau

On Sept. 4 relief flights continued landing at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) with much-needed supplies for the islands impacted by Hurricane Dorian. A disaster response team from the non-denominational Christian group, Samaritan’s Purse began a two-day mission to airlift supplies into The Bahamas.

 

Commercial airlines including Air Canada, American Airlines, Jet Blue, Delta and others also brought in relief items when flying passengers into LPIA. Supplies from the commercial flights were taken from the aircraft, placed on helicopters and other aircraft and sent directly to Abaco and Grand Bahama Island.

The airport continues to receive calls from agencies from around the world seeking to assist the country in its hurricane relief efforts.
