To commemorate their Rosetta Street store opening, the company wanted to support another major event happening at the same time: the first day of the school year. MrShipIt.com partnered with Ortland H. Bodie of Real Talk 94.9 FM to donate back-to-school packages to needy students of Carmichael Primary and Ridgeland Park Primary. The MrShipIt.com team hand-packed over 50 school bags with the basic supplies kids need to kick off the school year, including water bottles, pencils, notebooks and rulers. “To continue the celebration,” Nairn continued, “we are extending a shipping rate of $1.30 per pound to our future customers when they sign up on www.mrshipit.com.” Currently the shipping industry in the Bahamas is booming.
