NASSAU, Bahamas  – Reduced electricity costs and improved reliability in supply are just some of the topics that will be discussed by senior executives from PowerSecure (Nasdaq: POWR) International, in their meetings with government and private sector leaders this week in The Bahamas.

PowerSecure, which specializes in distributed generation, utility infrastructure and energy efficiency, will bring creative and practical electrical cost reduction and reliability improvement solutions to the Bahamas.

Top executives have flown into the country for a series of discussions about a transformative power project for the country.

“We are very excited to be back in the Bahamas talking with government and energy industry leaders who are committed to reducing the cost of power and improving the reliability of the electric grid in the Bahamas,” said Mark Martyak, P.E., Chief Sales Officer.

PowerSecure’s integrated solution has been proven in more than 1,350 successful systems and thousands of miles of storm-hardened distribution.
PowerSecure provides distributed generation systems on a completely turnkey basis including: engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and 24/7 continuous monitoring, maintenance and dispatch. By adding PowerSecure’s unique natural gas capable generators to solar power sources, the PowerSecure solution can provide dispatchable “firm solar,” which allows for uninterrupted power, even when available sunlight/solar power decreases. This will be essential to enable the effective large scale deployment of solar energy in the Bahamas.

In addition, PowerSecure’s solution provides this highly reliable power at a significantly reduced cost compared to the current cost of energy production in the Bahamas.

PowerSecure’s solutions do not stop at the power source, but also extend to the grid. PowerSecure’s extensive storm hardening and line restoration programs have been of high value to many utilities in hurricane-prone areas to reduce costs and increase reliability.
