Nassau, Bahamas - Prime Minister Perry Christie and a delegation of government officials were on hand last week for the official opening of Sandals Royal Bahamian’s Crystal Lagoon Suites.

Mr. Christie joined Sandals’ Chairman, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart and Chief Executive Officer Adam Stewart to cut the ribbon that officially opened the newest and one of the most innovative resort attractions in New Providence. “It represents the commitment to ensure Sandals has a first class product here on Cable Beach,” said Mr. Christie. “Sandals continues to be a leader in innovation and marketing excellence.”

While on the property the Prime Minister was given a full tour, bringing him up to speed on the resort’s latest renovations and amenities. Mr. Christie was especially impressed with Sandals Royal Bahamian’s latest culinary offerings that include an authentic rock oven, where fresh bread is baked daily.

Adam Stewart thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to the resort and reaffirmed Sandals’ commitment to the Bahamas and to the training and development of Bahamians.

“Today is a very proud day for you to be with us,” Adam Stewart remarked to Mr. Christie.

He continued: “The evolution of Sandals never really stops in our world. It’s all about how do we make it better? How do we continue to grow and listen to what the customers say? Given the training and development programmes open to our team members, we’re delighted that the team members here have risen to the occasion, and as Sandals as an all-inclusive brand continues to rise, they’re rising with us.”

Sandals Royal Bahamian’s General Manager, Patrick Drake, led the tour of the property, ending at the Crystal Lagoon Suites where the ribbon cutting ceremony took place. A significant highlight of the new rooms was the promotion of seven team members, who were expertly trained under the Guild of Professional English Butlers to look after the guests who will occupy the 14 new suites.

“The opening of the Crystal Lagoon Suites allowed us to excite the marketplace with a novel room feature. They will be some of most sought after in the entire region.” said Mr. Drake.

Even as the Prime Minister and his delegation toured the property, Sandals’ hosted members of its Chairman’s Royal Club (CRC) – a contingent of travel industry professionals who have become the top sellers of the Sandals brand. Those CRC members were also able to see and feel the latest upgrades to Sandals Royal Bahamian, in order for them to become even more proficient in selling the property to their clients.

“The feedback from the CRC has highlighted how refreshing the changes have been,” said Mr. Drake. “With the discerning travelers we have today, not only are they looking for value, but also outstanding service to justify the spend.”
