Dr. Glen Beneby appointed Consultant Medical Advisor at FirstCare Medical

Nassau, Bahamas - Former Chief Medical Officer Dr. Glen Beneby has been appointed as FirstCare Medical Plan's Consultant Medical Advisor effective July 20, 2021. As Consultant Medical Advisor, Dr. Beneby will chart the course for the company's community healthcare initiatives and assist with regional expansion plans.

Dr. Beneby brings to FirstCare more than forty-three years of experience in the local and international medical industry. During his career, he has held many positions instrumental to the development of The Bahamas' medical sector, including Chief Medical Officer, Director of Princess Margaret Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, Bahamas representative on NIH (National Institute of Health, Washington) 1995-2015, National Health Insurance (NHI) pioneer which was launched from his office during his tenure as Chief Medical Officer in 2014, Medical Advisor of the Public Hospitals Authority, Chairman of the National Blood Bank Program, and Founding Member of the University of the West Indies Clinical Training Programme for Medical Students in the Bahamas, amongst others.
