Freeport, Bahamas - A Job Fair will be held for persons interested
in a career in the cruise industry, at the Convention Centre, Grand Lucayan,
Monday, February 23rd, 2015, during the hours of
9:00 a.m. – 5:00p.m.
David L. Johnson, Chief Executive Officer,
Tourism Development Corporation said the recruitment drive will be undertaken
in accordance with an Agreement between Paradise Cruise Line and the Bahamas
Government. The new Grand Celebration has committed to employ 300 suitably
qualified Bahamians.
Executive Director, National Training Agency,
Agatha Marcelle said “successful applicants will undergo required Seafarers
training that will qualify them for employment within international cruise
industry, building upon the Bahamas’ brand as a leader in tourism hospitality.”
Sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, the
Ministry of Labour and the Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board, the Job Fair,
is a Tourism Development Corporation initiative and will be coordinated
by the Ship Mate Ltd Crewing Agency for persons who would like to work
at sea on a cruise ship for six months.
Ship Mate Ltd is now recruiting for the
following positions: Retail Staff, Cabin Attendants, Hotel Stewards,
Bell Attendants, Laundry Staff, Pool Attendants, Entry Level Cooks and
Kitchen Personnel, Junior Waiters, Bar Servers, licensed and unlicensed
officers, etc.
Applicants are required to bring an up-to-date
resume, National Insurance Bureau card, Police Record, Passport, relevant
jobs skills certificates and two reference letters.
