Bahamians Shaunae Miller and Jeffery Gibson continued on a high on Friday in Brussels, Belgium at  the AG Insurance Memorial van Damme Diamond League meet, both finishing at the top of their sports.

Miller took the win in the women's 400m title with 50.4, just head of Francena McCorory, of the USA, second with 50.59, and Stephanie Ann McPherson of Jamaica  came third with 51.00.

After setting two national records at the World Championships, Gibson won the men's 400m hurdles ahead of Bershawn Jackson of the USA with 48.76 and Kariem Hussein, of Switzerland with 48.87.

"I was glad with my performance, especially with me going in with no expectations," Gibson was quoted in The Tribune. "To win my first race, I'm grateful and humbled by what God gave to me. I was a little nervous about the race going against a strong field, but I told myself that I'm going to run at least run my best and go out with a bang."
