Bahamas Rugby Football Union to host Caribbean Sevens Championship

The Bahamas Rugby and Football Union (BRFU) has been awarded the 2007 North American and West Indies Rugby Association's (NAWIRA) Men and Women's Seven's Tournament.

The regional event will take place in New Providence, November 17-18 at the Winton Rugby Pitch, in Winton Meadows.

Members of The BRFU were thrilled when they received confirmation that their bid to host the tournament was successful.

The tournament will include men and women teams from all Caribbean Unions as well as Mexico, Canada and the USA.

Last year, The Bahamas finished with a 4-3 record, which according to Chris Lleida, team manager at the time, was probably a "fair reflection" on where The Bahamas National Rugby Team stood at the moment.

He said, team Bahamas played well, but too many mistakes were made. Looking on the positive side he also pointed out that valuable lessons that can only come from experience were learned.
