The Bahamas took gold in the IAAF 4 x 400m Mixed Relay to close out the 2017 IAAF / BTC World Relays hosted by The Bahamas the weekend of April 22nd and 23rd. The new addition was a glorious close to Sunday night’s programme, and you can see the excitement in this video enclosed.

Participating were teams from Trinidad and Tobago, Australia, Poland, United States, Jamaica, Kenya, and Botswana.

Running for The Bahamas in race order was Shauna Miller,  Steven Gardiner, Antonique Strachan and Michael Mathieu.  In an exciting finish Michael Mathieu ran down and overtook USA's Claudia Francis to win in the final leg.

The mixed event was first staged at an IAAF event at the IAAF World Youth Championships Cali 2015.
