Bahamians advance in singles quarterfinals and doubles semifinals at ITF Goombay Splash

Bahamians Sydney Clarke, Jacobi Bain and Donte Armbrister advance to the quarterfinals in singles in the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association U18 ITF Goombay Splash. The 3 top ranked junior players from The Bahamas will play tomorrow at the National Tennis Centre starting at 9am.

Donte Armbrister and Jacobi Bain have also advanced in doubles and will play in the semifinals tomorrow for the opportunity to play in the finals.

This International Tennis Federation competition hosted by The BLTA boasts tennis players from all over the world including United States, China, Canada, Nigeria, Luxembourg, Japan, Czech Republic, Barbados, New Zealand and Mexico.

Denali Nottage, Peyton Anderson, Anthony Burrows Jr. And Ryan Fox all played hard today but did not advance in matchplay. We congratulate them for making it to day 3 in tournament play and displaying some good tennis along the way. Kaylee Kanuka, Elana Mackey, Kofi Bowe, Sierra Rodgers, Kinza Johson, Genesis Missick, Gabrielle Simms, Kristen Majorand Fotini Salpadimos also exhibited good effort in the tournament.

We are pleased about the level of Bahamian participation in this international arena. There are a lot of shining tennis athletes on the circuit and on the horizon; the future outlook of the sport continues to be positive.

We also wish Sydney, Jacobi and Donte much success tomorrow as they compete in quarterfinals on the singles side and doubles semifinals.
