Both athletes have committed themselves to help open doors for the Youth in The Bahamas. There is a general agreement that talent, sports aptitude, and ideal body structures abound in the Bahamian youth talent pool. "They need to be pointed in the right direction, where coaches, talent scouts and colleges can view them", said McCartney.

The Hon. Minister, fresh off a very competitive and successful Esso Junior Junkanoo Parade, which saw the Family Island Schools in Spanish Wells, Harbour Island and South Andros, dominate and sweep the New Providence based Senior High Schools, was enjoying the moment.

No one saw it coming; the competition was just too stiff for the New Providence Groups, the Family Island Junkanoo Groups had prepared themselves well; they had come to take it all!
