Freeport, Grand Bahama - In an effort to restore some normalcy to our lives and despite extensive roof damage to the Clubhouse, the Freeport Rugby Football Club kicks off again this Saturday (October 29th) at 11.30am at the Rugby Club.
Like many on the island, the Club has suffered greatly over the last few weeks and is still without power and regular running water. However the Club Committee feel it is imperative that the programmes restart as soon as is practical. Thus the ‘grand old lady of Freeport’ will re-appear once more tattered and torn in an effort to offer our youngsters a safe, enjoyable and formative environment to practice and hone their sporting skills!
The hurricane impact (and lack of power) will obviously limit the programmes on offer at this time:
• Boys Saturday soccer 11.30 onwards- starting this Saturday
• Midweek academy every Wednesday to likely start in mid-November for various age groups form under 10s to under 15s
• Planned trip to Nassau prior to Christmas may be pushed back a month or so to ensure appropriate preparation time
• Men’s’ soccer every Wednesday – start time may be brought forwards from 6.3pm to recognize the lack of floodlights at this time
