Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas - Over 30 local boys from Freeport, are off on their
first Rugby tour to Florida to play the local Rugby Rats. Two teams are
traveling from Freeport to South Florida for the weekend to represent
The Bahamas in USA sanctioned games in Key Biscayne. For the last two
years the Key Biscayne Rats Jr. team have traveled to Freeport to play
and now the GB Club is excited to travel to Florida.
“Thanks to many
local sponsors we were able to take this trip with so many of our
players,” said Nigel Kirkby Bahamas Rugby Chairman. “The boys have been
practicing every weekend and are really excited to be able to travel to
the US to play against their friends. Our thanks to the local coaches,
families and sponsors who made this all possible.”
The Under 17 and
Under 13 boys will play on Saturday at the Rats home pitch in Key Biscayne.
