Bahamian tennis pro Mark Knowles started the season with his new doubles partner Mardy Fish and the duo got off to bit of a shaky start and managed to play in four tournaments together. Knowles had a couple injuries he was dealing with and then Fish injured his hip  at the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships in Texas and now will sit out the remainder of the clay court season.

Mark Knowles sent The Bahamas Weekly the following comments after Mardy's injury, " "This season has been full of misfortunes. My injury caused us to miss the Australian hard-court season, one of my favorite times of the year, and then my calf acted up in my first match back in Memphis. Now, in our first tournament of the clay court season, Mardy incurs an injury that will keep him out until the French Open. It's like someone has placed a hex on us, so it's definitely been frustrating."

Knowles has since returned to the circuit and is currently playing in the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters in Monaco with Brazilian, Bruno Soares They are seeded 8th and will play the number one seeds Nestor/Zimonjic on Friday, April 16th. See more info HERE.

Mark's  website reads, "Mark is disappointed with all of the difficulties that have been thrown at him this year. With all of his experience on the tour, he knows how to overcome adversity. He has the mentality to focus and push on for success - the clay court season is an area where he can add points to help pad his ranking for the second half of the season, so he will give 110% with whomever he partners to achieve the results he is looking for."
