Panama and Mexico returning to The Bahamas

Both teams qualify for FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup

Nassau Bahamas  - Panama and Mexico will be back under the bright lights of the new Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Facility in Nassau, Bahamas in a few weeks for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017, which kicks off April 27 to May 7.

The teams from Central and North America secured their spots to the big show during the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championships Bahamas 2017 on Saturday.

Panama will return to The Bahamas to participate in a World Cup for the first time. The team defeated El Salvador in a tightly contested match that was determined by a penalty shoot out. The final score was 3-2.

Meanwhile Mexico, the reigning CONCACAF champions, qualified with ease, defeating Guadeloupe 3-0 in the semi-final round.

Thirteen teams have qualified for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup so far. The Bahamas, Tahiti, Portugal, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Nigeria, Senegal, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, and now Panama and Mexico are in preparation mode.

The excitement over the event is growing and now only three spots remain. Teams from Asia will be determined on March 11.
