Almost all of the games have been played, and finally, the teams set to participate in the inaugural Popeyes Bahamas Bowl on December 24 will be revealed to the public this Sunday, December 7.

The announcement of the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl matchup will take place sometime after 3 p.m. ET, following the announcements of the College Football Playoff four-team field (12:45 p.m. ET) and the CFP’s New Year’s Six bowls (no later than 3 p.m. ET).

The bowl will make the announcement via PopeyesBahamasBowl.com, on Twitter at @TheBahamasBowl and on Facebook at Popeyes Bahamas Bowl.

The first two teams to play a postseason NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) game outside of either the United States or Canada since the 1937 Bacardi Bowl will come from a pool that includes: Conference USA (C-USA) – Louisiana Tech (8-4), Marshall (11-1), Middle Tennessee (6-6), Rice (7-5), UAB (6-6), UTEP (7-5) and WKU (7-5). Mid-American Conference (MAC) – Bowling Green (7-5), Central Michigan (7-5), Northern Illinois (10-2), Ohio (6-6), Toledo (8-4) and Western Michigan (8-4).

Friday evening, December 5, the Marathon MAC Championship Game will be played in Detroit’s Ford Field between Bowling Green and Northern Illinois. Louisiana Tech travels to Marshall in the Conference USA Championship Game on Saturday afternoon, December 6.

Fans wanting to find out about travel packages to the bowl can visit BahamasBowlTravel.com for information. In keeping with the bowl’s theme of #PassportToKickoff, United States citizens are reminded that they must have a valid passport to travel to the Bahamas. More information on passports can be found at passports.state.gov.

The December 24 game at noon in the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium will be televised nationally on ESPN and carried on ESPN Radio.

The teams are expected to arrive in Nassau on December 20 for a bowl week full of events at Atlantis Bahamas, the official resort of the bowl, along with community relations appearances in the Nassau area.

More information on the game and related activities will be released in the coming days.
