Ms. Nyah Singh earns her first win on The Front 9 Junior Tour

Ms. Nyah Singh, put in a fine performance on Sunday past in the re-scheduled 2019 Royal Fidelity Junior Golf Open Championship at the Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island. Originally carded for Saturday November 9th, the event had to be put off because of the inclement weather that rolled in. 

The 16yr old student of Bahamas Global Academy, topped a field of 33 juniors with the days’ low score of 79, 2nd and 3rd place were Judah Lloyd with a score of 81 and Heathcliff Kane with a score of 82, respectively.

The results in the age division 9-hole play were as follows:  In the Boys/Girls U9 Flight, first place went to Jalene Bowleg, second was Tatum Adderley and third was Haley Hall.  In the Boys/Girls 10-13 Flight, first place went to Arjun Shetty, second was Chemari Pratt, and third went to Elyse Hanna.  In the Boys/Girls 14-18 Flight, first place went to Jermaine Dawkins, second went to Zadok Smith and third place went to Nataija McPhee.

The results in age division 18-hole play were as follows:  In the Boys 10-13 Flight, first place went to Aiden Gorospe, second was Kerrington Rolle and there was a two-way tie for third place between Axel Dridi & Rhan Miller.  In the Boys 14-15 category, first place went to Zion Taylor, second went to Max Dridi and third place went to Jaden Ward.  In the Boys 16-18 category, first place went to Judah Lloyd, second was Heathcliff Kane and third went to Edison Rolle.  In the Girls 14-15 Flight, Ms. Tyesha Tynes was the winner.  In the Girls 16-18 category, first place went to Nyah Singh, second was A’Marie Smith and third went to Miranda Tucker.

Fourteen Clubs Golf Academy is also pleased to introduce the Collegiate Flight to this tournament and will be included in all of the future Front 9 tournaments.  Mr. John Hall III placed first, Deangelo Stubbs placed second and Rayshard Gibson placed third in this newly added Flight.

The Tournament Flag for this event, which goes to the junior golfer with the lowest score, went to Ms. Nyah Singh.  She finished the day with 2 birdies and 9 pars on her way to capturing the flag.

The final event for 2019 for junior golfers is the Players Championship to be held on December 14th at The Royal Blue Golf Course, Baha Mar.  Following this event on Sunday December 15th, 2019, will be the 2nd Annual Junior Golf Luncheon and Awards Ceremony to be held at Superclubs Breezes starting at 1pm.  Tickets and further information on how you can support Junior Golf in the Bahamas can be got by contacting us at fourteenclubsgolfacademy@gmail.com.

The Front 9 is dedicated to ensuring that our junior golfers have a full tournament schedule and other opportunities to succeed in the first half of their golf lives.  The tour has events being played at all courses in The Bahamas including, Abaco, Freeport, Exuma, and Nassau.
