Team Bahamas set to compete at World Juniors this week

The Girls Competition begin on Monday at The World Juniors Tennis Championships.  Participating are top juniors in the U14 category from the region including countries such as El Salvador, Curacao, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Honduras, Bermuda,  Dominican Republic, Haiti, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Trinidad & Tobago and Suriname.

The event is being  held at Centro Nacional de Tenis, Parque del Este in the Dominican Republic.

The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association has fielded a team consisting of (pictured from right)Kaylee Kanuka, Sierra Rodgers and Jianna Munroe.

The team is captained by Mr. Jared Turnquest.  The team is expected to do well in round robin matchplay. Top finishers will  qualify to advance to main draw action.

Team Bahamas will open up playing the host country Dominican Republic first. Competition consists of the best of three matches, two singles and one doubles.
