A number of Bahamians are participating in the tennis college arena with their respective colleges and university.
Lee University - Sierra Donaldson
In their season opener Sierra Donaldson and The Lee University women's tennis team defeated Carson-Newman University 5-2.
In her singles match Donaldson fought back from a 7-6 first-set loss to win the final two sets 6-3 and 7-6 over Vuckovic at the fifth position.

In doubles Sierra Donaldson and Lauren Trammell completed the sweep for their team with a 6-2 score against Alisa Liashova and Klara Vuckovic.
The next match for The Lee Flames will be on February 9, against Lees-McRae College.
Jackson State University - Iesha Shepherd
Iesha Shephard and the Jackson State University(JSU)Tigers won 4-0 this weekend over the LSU Alexandria(LSUA). Iesha played the #6 Singles defeating Katheryne Campos 7-6, 6-2. Iesha teamed up with the #2 Doubles Zhang of JSU defeating Perez/Martinez of LSUA 6-2. The JSU Tigers also played Southeastern Louisiana(SLU) over the weekend. Despite losing 1-4 Bahamian Iesha along with Zhang pulled out a win at #2 doubles 2 Doubles defeating Kyra Akinnibi/Katya Cornejo of SLU 6-3.

Abbigail Simmis and the Indiana Tech Warriors are scheduled for their
season opener on Feb 8th.
In January The Indiana Tech women's tennis team was picked second in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Coaches' Preseason Poll.
They finished fifth during the 2019 season.
Bethune-Cookman - Afrika Smith
Bethune Cookman Wildcats lost to Giorgia State University Eagles but Afrika playing #1 singles and fought hard in a losing effort 6-3, 6-2. She also teamed up with Thomas in #2 doubles 2-6.

Lauryn Daxon and the Missouri Valley Vikings are slated to take on Ottawa University March 1st 2020.
Hannah-Joy Simms and the Brescia University Beatcats take on Oakland City University on February 15th kn their season opener.
Joshua Turnquest and the Asbury Eagles take on Thomas More Saints at home in their season opener on February 29th. Joshua is in his senior year. Last year he was River State Conference player of the year, earned All-American honors and was ranked 16th nationally.
The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association wishes all the Bahamians on the college tennis circuit well during the 2020 tennis collegiate season.
