UB Mingoes Win Their First Game

Nassau, The Bahamas -- The University of The Bahamas (UB) men's basketball team played its first game under its new name, (UB) Mingoes, Saturday, March 4, at the Kendall Isaacs Gymnasium. On this occasion, the university's "Mingoes" Mascot made a debut. The name 'mingoes' is in recognition of the National Bird, the flamingo.  UB President Dr. Rodney Smith, enjoyed the game, along with students, staff and faculty.  UB Mingoes beat the Island Game Pros 89-70.
