Mayaguez, Puerto Rico - During the week of July 18th to 23rd Team Bahamas participated in the 21st Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games. Full results for Team Bahamas are HERE.

Vereance Burrows won a bronze in the men's 50 meter Butterfly final with a time of 24.30 seconds.

"This medal for me was a big relief because I felt that I should have medaled in two other of my events, but I came up short. I was frustrated all week with my performances and that race was my last chance, so I focused all my frustrations into that race and the end result was a bronze with a mixture of overjoy and relief," said Burrows.

This was Burrows first ever CAC Games medal and the first for a Bahamian male this year. Burrows will continue is college education this fall in the USA and is focusing on obtaining sponsorships for training. He plans to participate in the USA Grand Prix circuit.
