Fash|Art announces emerging fashion and art talent to compete on November 2nd-3rd!

Nassau, Bahamas - For 12 aspiring fashion designers and visual artist the wait is over and the designing begins! Organizers of the Fash|Art event have released the names of the 2012 semifinalist to compete during the November 2nd + 3rd event extravaganza. Representing varied age ranges, talent backgrounds and Islands, the new and emerging talents will debut their collections, in hopes of launching their careers during a two-night multimedia event, featuring high-end runway shows, an art & fashion exhibition, a media-filled “red carpet”, live entertainment, a pop-up shopping event, and chic after-parties.

The 2012 Cast competing for the coveted “Harl Taylor Emerging Fashion Designer” and the “Jackson Burnside Emerging Visual Artist” awards are: fashion designers; Kishanna Johnson, Cardell McCall & Christopher John, Kenria Smith, Nykarlio Ferguson, Avis Wood-Munroe and Shaquille Johnson. Visual artist include; Lesean Bowe, Mecko Gibson, Andrew Weech, Verna Wood, Attila Feszt and Selina Sweeting.


The panel of fashion and art experts that selected the 2012 Cast, sorted through over 40 applicants and decided based on creativity, originality, commerciality and marketability. This year’s cast will partake in a month long “Seminar Series“, which will provide them with business insight on the creative economy, branding, merchandising and a mentorship program. This year’s winners will receive over $5,000 in cash and prizes to assist them in establishing their careers in the creative community.

Fash|Art is an emerging Fashion and Visual Arts Design competition organized by Fashion & Style enthusiast Kedar Clarke and Stylezine Magazine. The event aims to uncover Bahamian talents, present them with the opportunity to launch their careers and groom them into tomorrow’s top creative minds!
