“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” -John Quincy Adams.

Tiasha Lewis is the last of six children born to Edward and Florease Lewis on the beautiful island of Grand Bahama. At only 17 years of age, she has and is continuing to make tremendous impacts on the lives of others. Her hobbies include: modelling, dancing, poetry writing, and motivational speaking. She was a member of many positive youth development programs such as Governor General Youth Award, Fashion Club, Student Christian Movement, Bahamas Youth Leadership Development Program, Ladies Club, Junior Achievement, Jags Dance Club and the Anti-Bullying Club. With her many extra-curricular activities, she has successfully graduated as Salutatorian of St. Georges High School with a 3.87 cumulative G.P.A and 9 BGCSE passes.  She has also achieved 2nd place Top National Spanish Student in The Bahamas, Junior Achiever’s 2nd Place Most Distinguished Achiever, 3rd Place Speech Winner and Top Vice President for Finance 2017, Governor General’s Youth Award’s Bronze Medalist and National Arts Group Dance Distinction Recipient.

She has also been awarded a Language Study Abroad Program trip to Costa Rica in July of 2016 to learn Spanish fluently and the opportunity to serve as a queen ambassador for our country in an International coffee pageant in Colombia- all while still in high school! She is bilingual and feels that it allows her to be an excellent ambassador for her country internationally. She is very friendly and is always willing to lend a hand. She participates in community services every chance she receives. These include beach cleanups, school campus cleanups, offering help to teachers and community food drives to name a few. Every day afterschool of this year, she decided to offer her time to assist students in preparation for their Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC) examination in Math. As a result of her care for the wellbeing of others, her personality brings warmth to everyone she comes in contact with. They are moved by her kindred-spirit and are inspired by her actions every day.

Tiasha is a very passionate and purpose driven young lady who aspires to become a financial advisor, motivational speaker, and aid in the improvement of society and the economy. She loves helping others and watching them bloom successfully. She believes that one of God's plans for her life is to make positive impacts on others. She was a proud participant in the Junior Achievement program where she held the position of Vice President of Finance, a member of The Bahamas Youth Leadership Development Program, the co-leader of the Jags Dance Club, the former head girl of St. Georges High School, and the current queen of her island. She truly values the importance of positive leadership which is why she spends her free time learning and developing herself into the remarkable leader that she hopes to become. These leadership roles have not been earned only for personal benefits, but because of the desire she has to be an inspiration to her peers; thus, her platform being “Youth Empowerment”.  She says that her crown as Miss Grand Bahama, and hopefully the next Miss Universe Bahamas, is used as a microphone to ensure that other young people are inspired to know that they can become positive leaders no matter how young they are and with whatever skills they have to bring forth to the table. Tiasha Lewis is indeed a remarkable young leader in our beautiful Bahama Land.
