Anthony George Dahl [RIP]

no way

could Tony Dahl be dead

fearing though that it is so

accident on Cat Island,

and he a casualty

part of-

caught up in the wreck

death trap and

he caught in it

what is it with

our family island

roads and these mishaps

did not expect for him

to go like that

to be gone so soon

no contact

for some years now

recently told

of his retirement from Spelman

where he was professor of Spanish

surprised to hear that he has been

for some years now, a Catholic priest

now I hear that he is deceased

day-before-yesterday

or the day before that

some vehicle crashed

and he crushed in the twisted metal

what a way to go, what a way to end

what a life he had, what a friend he was
