No question about it, the Chopard and Versace Opening Night Red Carpet event on Friday, December 7th, at The Cloisters, One and Only Ocean Club was a true taste of Hollywood in The Bahamas!  The Bahamas Weekly News Team was on hand as the who's who of Bahamian society from across The Bahamas turned out to mingle with independent film makers from around the globe.

Guests arrived by limousine and courtesy shuttles, and were greeted with flutes of champagne as cameras flashed and rolled. People floated up the red carpet into Cloisters which looked like a Greek temple in the sky.  There was an endless flow of cocktails as the gracious hosts, the Chee-a-tow family of Hillside Investments and Leslie Vanderpool, founder of the Bahamas International Film Festival, assured that everyone was well taken care of.

Midway into the evening welcome remarks were given by the glowing and overjoyed Miss Vanderpool who looked radiant in a fuschia pink Versace gown. Young entrepreneur, Rodney Chee-a-tow introduced the highlight of the evening, the Versace Chopard fashion show.  This world class show was set against a backdrop of the bay as models glided across the catwalk showcasing Versace attire adorned with Chopard jewelry.

The grand finale was an explosive fireworks display that illuminated the sky for at least fifteen minutes.

And on Paradise Island the night was only just beginning....
