Screenplay submissions to the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) announces its call for entries for the 6th BIFF Filmmaker Residency Program, to be held December 10- 17, 2009.
The aim of the program is to support the Bahamian and Caribbean filmmakers by providing a chance to present projects to established producers, directors, writers, etc. through a series of one-on-one meetings. This intensive program is designed to foster dialog, to build lasting connections and to offer opportunities for growth.
The emphasis is on critical feedback, practical advice, and a clear view of the next steps in the filmmaking process, tailored to the individual project...

BIFF Film Society Weekly Film Series!
Throughout the year BIFF Film Society will offer a weekly film series starting June 3rd.
EVERY WEDNESDAY at Galleria JFK, and Entrance is only $5.00. Showtime 7:30pm

- The 2009
Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is pleased to announce that the esteemed Director of Photographer
Gavin Mckinney will be honored with the first Bahamian Tribute Award at this year’s Festival, taking place
December 10 -17 in Nassau. The announcement was made by BIFF Founder and Executive Director Leslie Vanderpool.
Mr. Mcinney will be on hand for the Tribute and presentation on Tuesday, December 15th. Commented Vanderpool, ‘ We are so honored to recognize one of our very own Bahamian industry professionals who is making a name for himself all around the Globe within the film world...’
