Paradise Island – On December 13th, 2008 Atlantis, Paradise Island will close out the first season of its Atlantis Live Concert Series with what’s already being called a sensational, probably sold-out performance by teen boy band, The Jonas Brothers!

Since its start, almost a year ago, The Atlantis Live Series have brought many world renowned performers to the Atlantis Resort. Among the A-list artists are 80s pop band Duran Duran, Maroon 5, pop star Fergie, and lead singer for Matchbox 20; Rob Thomas.

The Atlantis Live Concert Series takes place in one of three venues. The smaller Atlantis Theatre holds about 650 people and is used for more intimate concerts where the artists can better interact with the audience. For much larger crowds and bigger stage performances, there’s the choice of either the Grand Ballroom which can hold up to 1400 people or the Imperial Ballroom which fits 3000 guests comfortably.

According to Michele Wiltshire, Senior Vice President of Special Events these events are usually sold out and the concert series is a big hit with both locals and hotel guests. “Where else can you go and get access to world class entertainers like these in a close personal environment?” questions Wiltshire. She’s right. Acts like Fergie or the Jonas Brothers usually perform in stadiums where the seating capacity is usually 20,000. At Atlantis, Paradise Island, the figure is closer to just 2,000.

While Atlantis, Paradise Island has already established itself as one of the premier world-class resorts not only in the region but in the world; they continue to push the envelope. “The concert series is a vehicle to further position Atlantis as an entertainment brand. Not only do we have the best casino, finest restaurants, outstanding water features, top night spot (Aura Nightclub) and quality rooms; but also we seek to give our guests access to world-class entertainers unlike any other destination in the world,” Wiltshire boasts.

In the second tier of its three part approach, the concert series also allows the resort to appeal to its casino customers. “We give our best casino customers further access to great performers. We use the concert as a tool to invite them to come and play,” explains the Senior Vice President of Special Events. The concert is also a great marketing tool, allowing the resort to target past guests and drive business in periods when greater occupancy is needed.

With a successful first season almost in the bag, event organizers already have several top performers lined-up for when the concert series resumes in the first quarter of 2009. While they’re not revealing any names, Wiltshire says expect a varied roster that will appeal to just about every taste!

“To make sure our local and international guests come back for more, we’re leaving them with our best concert yet,” claims Wiltshire who’s referring to the upcoming performance of the hit teen pop band The Jonas Brothers. They’ll be performing before a capacity crowd of 3,000 people!
