Bahamian Jazz artist, Anuschka Wright returns for Jazz In Bloom on Father's Day, June 17th

Bahamian jazz vocalist, Anuschka Wright, is returning to her home town, Nassau, Bahamas after successfully completing her first year at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada where she is studying music with a specialization in Jazz vocals. Once in Nassau, Anuschka’s main focus will be that of her concert, Jazz In Bloom, which will be held on Father’s Day, June 15, 2014 at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel.

Over this past year in Montreal, Anuschka has gained a lot of valuable experience. One being finding herself fortunate enough to be included in two of Jeri Brown's - a reputable Jazz vocalist and head of Concordia's vocal department - personal project, the "Town of Mo" show where she played the role of Diana Ross in The Supremes, and also sang back up for Jeri herself, in one of her live recorded concerts.

Anuschka's drive and focus is unmistakable, and with that, her contribution to Jazz in the Bahamas is not only being noted by her peers and mentors but her reputation as an artist is spreading to the masses. During a short break from university, Anuschka was hosted by Antonius Roberts at his Hillside House Studio and Gallery on Cumberland Street. There she performed to an intimate group of her biggest supporters. The general consensus from all in attendance was that her vocal ability and overall stage presence had noticeably improved even after just a few months of studying abroad.

Also, a special note must be made as Anuschka recently received the honor (which came as a complete surprise) of being recognized by the Ministry of Education in the first annual UNESCO International Jazz Day celebration held on April 30, 2014, for her work so far in her pursuits as a Jazz artist. She was extremely flattered and grateful to say the least. And yet, with all the success of this past year, Anuschka doesn't seem to be slowing down as she now has her focus set to her next big personal project.

Last year on Father’s Day, an enthusiastic and receptive crowd experienced the realization of the first stage of Anuschka’s vision of bringing a world class presentation of a complete Jazz concert to the Bahamas. The name of the concert was more than fitting being entitled... Jazz In Bloom. This event celebrates fathers, life and the passionate, creative spirit. And in the wake of that concert's success, Anuschka and the Jazz in Bloom team considered the possibility of putting on another concert this year. They were more than pleased to find her supporters in full agreement; receiving numerous requests for it to be made into an annual event.

So now the question is... What does she have planned for Jazz In Bloom this Father’s Day?

All the details have yet to be revealed, but what is certain is that she will be bringing once again, to the Bahamian public, a professionally produced, high quality, complete Jazz event. This year the concert's theme is “Ignited” so we expect to see something really hot and dynamic!

Mark your calendars for Father’s Day, June 15th, 2014, in the Governor's Ballroom of the British Colonial Hilton, at 7:00 p.m., Jazz In Bloom "Ignited" is coming your way!  Join Anuschka and her talented group of world class musicians, both local and international, and be prepared to be ignited. You definitely do not want to miss it.
