Halle Berry and Jamaal Hepburn on set of Extant

Update: Jamaal Hepburn can be seen this Wednesday, August 5th on CBS in "Extant"

The Bahamas Weekly has been following the career of Bahamian Jamaal Hepburn for some time now, and each year the young LA-based actor lands more and more prominent roles.

We are pleased to share that he's just completed work as a costar on the CBS science fiction drama series "Extant." The show is produced by Steven Spielberg and has Halle Berry as its lead. Extant centers around Molly Woods
(Berry), an astronaut with ISEA (International Space Exploration Agency) and is assigned a 13-month solo mission aboard space station Seraphim. She returns home to her husband John, a robotics engineer who created their son Ethan, a prototype android called a "humanich". When Molly discovers that she has mysteriously become pregnant despite years of infertility, she begins a search for answers.

The episode that Hepburn costarred in will air in a few months, and the second-season series premiere is set for July 1st, 2015.

Star struck!  Meeting Halle...

Hepburn explains the day he met Halle Berry. "I walked in to the hair and makeup trailer and began introducing myself to everyone not knowing that Halle was in a corner of the room. When she saw me, she paused and I waited until I locked eyes with her, prompting me to scurry over," he said. " We met halfway and she gave me the biggest hug! Then she asked me which character I was playing and I froze. My brain got all foggy and I couldn't even remember what role I was on set for."

"Thankfully the makeup artist saw my struggle, and shouted the answer after my 5 second freeze up," said Hepburn.  She (Berry) is the sweetest thing and is hands down one of the most beautiful women in the world! After we talked about The Bahamas and the fact that we had sat next to each other at the Poop Deck restaurant in Nassau when I was 14."

On set work...

Hepburn explains his first scene with Berry. "It was another episode of me losing my cool, but only internally this time. When she looked at me in character, it was a different Halle. I felt like she was inside my head and could read all my inner thoughts. It was so 'trippy' that I had to bite down on my tongue so that my 'smile reflex' didn't ruin the moment. She has a presence and you definitely feel it take over the room,"  said Hepburn who was born in The Bahamas and graduated from the Boise University on a Tennis Scholarship.

"I just felt incredibly blessed and I hope to work with her again in the future. I am a Halle Berry fan and so I asked for a picture, which felt awkward since I guess I wasn't just a fan anymore. Knowing my family, leaving that set without a picture would have haunted me for the rest of my life."
