Nassau, Bahamas - The sound of music will rock the island of Exuma this Christmas season when ‘D MAC’ and twenty-eight of his musical friends converge on Regatta Park in beautiful Georgetown for a three day music festival dubbed “D MAC and Friends’ All Star Christmas Weekend in Exuma.

The event kicks off with a free grand Gospel Concert on Thursday December 22nd and two All Star Concerts featuring top entertainers on Friday December 23rd and Saturday December 24th. The musical extravaganza unites a cross section of DJ’s, entertainers, bands and singers from a multiple of genres including Gospel, Rake ‘n’ Scrape, Reggae, Soca and Calypso, with the added bonus of delicious Bahamian food and an authentic Bahamian Cultural Show showcasing limbo and fire dancers.

‘D MAC & Friends’ Christmas in Exuma was first hosted on the island back in 2013 and rebooted in 2015 much to the delight of residents and local businesses, who benefited significantly from the economic boost derived from the event. The overwhelming success of last year’s concert heightened the anticipation of ‘D MAC & Friends’ 2016 and this year the event was expanded to three nights, including a night of gospel music honouring Exuma’s gospel music icon, singer, songwriter Al Gibson, author of the classic songs “Brand New World” and “Living with Jesus on the other side”. Performances by popular gospel artists, choirs and praise teams from Nassau and Exuma are scheduled, notably Denczil Rolle & Friends, Daneisha Curry, Karrington McKenzie, The McKenzie Sisters, The Taylor Children, Farmer’s Hill Praise Team and Church of God Of Prophecy District Youth Choir. The gospel concert will be hosted by popular radio personality Pastor Vaughn Miller with music by DJ Godson and DJ Counsellor.

Friday December 23rd and Saturday December 24th is the All Star Concert part one and two, and the Kalik BeerFest, featuring an impressive lineup entertainers including D MAC, Elon Moxey, Veronica Bishop, Blaudy, Bodine, Sammi Star, MDeez and Benje, all accompanied by Exuma’s Tropical Breeze Band. Also performing are The Synergy Band, The Calypso Band and The Sweet Love Band. The All Star Concert will be hosted by The Mighty Pencil and Dwight Hart, with music by DJ Rev, DJ Scooby, DJ Spliff and Code Red. The concert both nights will honour Exuma legends George Whylly, Kenneth Nixon and Godfrey Bowe

D MAC reveals the inspiration behind the ‘D MAC & Friends’ Christmas in Exuma project was his love for the island and the people. “I love Exuma so much. I’m passionate about the growth of the island and I appreciate the support I receive from my family and friends every time I come home. Last year we had blast with ‘D MAC & Friends’ Christmas in Exuma, this year I extended it to three nights of non-stop music because I wanted to create economic opportunities for the island. I am thankful to all the sponsors for supporting my passion.”

D MAC is planning to launch a bigger music project on Exuma in 2017.

‘D MAC & Friends’ All Star Weekend is sponsored by The Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture, Ministry of Tourism, DMAC Productions, Cash N Go, Exuma Beach Resort, Kalik, Sandals Emerald Bay, Club Peace and Plenty, Don's Car Rental, Four C's, Two Turtles Inn, BTC, SkyBahamas, Island MMTS, YHMedia, Pineapple Air, Audio Plus and 98.3 The Breeze FM.
