“Get RECONNECTED WITH T-Connection” March 30th, 2011. Nassau, Bahamas. What better way to commemorate an anniversary than to “Do What You Wanna Do”. That’s the attitude the S.A.C class of ’71 has as they prepare to get ‘funky’ while celebrating the 40th anniversary since graduating from its alma mater – Saint Augustine’s College in Fox Hill, Nassau.
The Class of ’71 presents our very own, world renowned T-Connection (Bahamian Group living in L.A.) in concert at the Wyndham Crystal Ballroom, on Cable Beach on Friday, May 27th, 2011 at 8 p.m. Proceeds from the concert will go towards the "S.A.C. Capital Needs Projects" to aid and assist St. Augustine’s in its development efforts.

T-Connection is a late 70s funk and disco band from Nassau, who moved to Miami and signed to TK Records where they released a number of funky disco classics, including “ Do What You Wanna Do” , which reached #1, and "Everything Is Cool", which peaked at #15 on the US Billboard R&B chart.
The group's affiliation with that label spawned four albums released between 1977-1979; "Do What You Wanna Do," released in 1977, would become the most popular highlight of their career. Once their time with T.K. was up, they signed with Capitol and headed north to New York.
T-Connection was one of those groups during the late '70s and early '80s that blurred the line between funk and disco. The group consists of the band leader Theophilus Coakley, Kirkwood Coakley on bass and drums, David Mackey on guitar, and Anthony Flowers on drums and percussion.
According to Mr. Phillip Galanis, one of the organizers for the event, “the night promises to be a memorable one and it’s a show you definitely do not want to miss!! The band has not performed together in Nassau since the 2003 at the Independence Day concert at Fort Charlotte.”
The S.A.C. Class of ’71 welcomes Burns House Group of Companies, Title Sponsor and Partner for the event. The Management of the Group of Companies expressed great excitement to partner with the S.A.C. class and the T-Connection, recognizing the great popularity of the band even today with many. Other partners for the event include Arawak Homes, Sunshine Insurance, and The Nassau Guardian, Star FM – Media partners for the event.
Individual ticket prices for the evening will range from $50.00 to $100.00 each. Platinum tables are also available. Tickets become available for sale on April 25th and will be exclusively available at select Burns House and Butler and Sands locations.
