The NEW Grand Bahama Entertainers, Musicians, and Artists Association

A group of dedicated and committed persons have come together in an undying effort to bring Live Entertainment back to Grand Bahama. On July 17, 2006, the group’s first meeting came together at Jokers Wild to nominate and vote in their Executive Board. That rewarding first night brought in a membership of over forty persons. The G.B.E.M.A.A.’s second and first official meeting on July 25th was even more successful with over seventy persons signed on as members. The Association introduced their legal counsel as well as introduced a group insurance package.

Under the dynamic leadership of Joe “Kinky” Fox, the Association is pressing to stay in tune with the Three P’s: Pride, Professionalism, and Performance, and also assist each other, along with small business owners, to bring a variety of entertainment back to the island and to keep Bahamian culture alive with all they do. Joe Fox is no stranger to the community – think the Thousand Man March, and the ‘Keep it Real’ radio program on Cool 96. His past experience as Entertainment Director for The Mirage in Vegas for nine years will be a strong asset to this new Association.

The GBEMAA plans to offer many exciting upcoming events where the talent on Grand Bahama will be revealed and showcased. They encourage ALL persons (beginners, amateur or pro of all ages) involved in entertainment, music, and the arts including musicians, dancers, singers, rappers, native entertainers, models, Junkanoo performers, gospel entertainers, actors, poets, playwrights, persons involved in theatre or film, DJs, all technical persons (sound, light, video, etc.) to join with them. For more information you can contact President Joe Fox at 533-0326 or Vice President, Nat Cambridge at 441-3653.
