Anwar Rolle, son of the late Bahamian musician Tony Seymour Sr. has released a new music video,
Toast to the Best which is dedicated to many unsung Bahamian entertainers of The Bahamas.
When asked what sparked the song Rolle told TheBahamasWeekly.com, "My late father would have been seventy years old on February 22, 2016. My kids always question me about their grandfather the late
great Tony Seymour Sr."
"So I encouraged them to find out on there
own, his accomplishments and in turn, they started looking
up other great Bahamians. I got to thinking how much other
young Bahamians don't know about these unsung heroes, and that's when it
dawned on me to create a platform to start the conversation, and out
came
Toast the Best," said Rolle.
The video gives tribute to Wendel Stuart, Smokey 007, Ray Munnings, Ronnie Butler, Johnny Kemp,
T- Connection, Isaiah Taylor, Tony Seymour Sr., Tony Seymour Jr, Terez
Hepburn, Freddie Munnings Sr, Peanuts Taylor, Frank Minaya, King Eric,
Fast Eddie Dames, Gus Cooper, and Percy 'Vola' Francis
Rolle says the first video that he's directed, written and starred in. He's currently shooting his upcoming music video titled "Home" in The Bahamas, but lives in the USA.
The video is said to be in rotation on ZNS and Cable 12. Look out for a new release featuring Fast Eddie Dames for Kalik and Junkanoo 2016 that Rolle is also writing and producing.
