Freeport, Bahamas - The Bahamas Weekly along with Karen Clarke of Thayers Natural Remedies welcomed New York's Queen of Blues to Grand Bahama on May 26th, 2010.

Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Roxy Perry (vocals and harmonica) arrived in Grand Bahama along with her band members Bob Fusco (bass guitar) and Jim Moran (lead guitar) and will be on a media tour over the next two days, along with rehearsals with local noted musicians Joe Fox and Kevin Fox; all leading up to the big show, one night only, at the Joker's Wild on Saturday, May 29th at 8pm.

Tickets may be still available at Antoni's Pizzeria, Seventeen Shop (downtown) or Island Java at the Port Lucaya Marketplace. VIP Tickets are SOLD OUT. Island Java SOLD OUT.

In this video you will here from Roxy Perry herself as she explains what to expect at the big show on Saturday. Also featured in this video is Willie Love, Desi Wallace, Karen Clarke, Robbin Whachell, and Clifford from Brice Limousine Service.

"I am really looking forward to doing the show at Joker's Wild on Saturday night, and I really hop to see everybody on the island. We have a great show for you. You will dance, sing, and laugh; your heart will be touched. We are going to turn this into Bluesville, but we'll be rockin' Bluesville," said Perry about her upcoming concert.

Tickets for general entrance are $35 and VIP are $75 which includes two bottles of wine at your table and three platters of food per table.

The Joker's Wild offers an intimate setting and will ensure everyone a great seat.  Part proceeds of the event will be in aid of the Columbus House Big Brother Program and the Grand Bahama Home for the Aged. Karen Clarke, President/CEO of Thayers Natural Remedies who are co-sponsoring the event said that the company is committed to sponsoring the arts, culture and charities on Grand Bahama. Thayers also supported the recent Naturally 7 concert in Freeport.

Roxy Perry started her professional singing career at age 9.  By her teens, she was fronting Rock and Soul bands that appeared in legendary NYC major venues such as The Peppermint Lounge. In her late teens and early 20s, she toured with a chart-topping Rock group Dawn, which appeared in major arenas throughout North America and Canada, and shared the concert bill with Kenny Rogers, The Carpenters, Rare Earth, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Iron Butterfly, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Mike Nesmith, Mark Lindsay and many others. 

Throughout her early recording career, Roxy had record deals in several genres which landed on Billboard charts.

Roxy launched her Blues career in the 80s, when she quickly became known for her exciting live performances at clubs, concert halls and festivals throughout the U.S. and abroad.

In recent years Roxy has appeared on the concert bill with Rod Piazza, Shamekia Copeland, Leon Russell, Marcia Ball, John Mayall, Saphire, Hubert Sumlin, Gatemouth Brown, Koko Taylor, The Black Crowes, and a host of others.
