Bahamian filmmaker, Travolta Cooper is riding high after his documentary film about Sir Lynden Pindling, "The Black Moses" solidified a distribution deal earlier this year which will put it into theaters in the USA. The film will next appear at the San Diego Film Festival.

American television and film critic Jeffrey Lyons saw The Black Moses as it closed the 2013 Bahamas International Film Festival.

"I have never seen a movie like this. Part drama, part informational, this is a unique experience in filmmaking," said Jeffrey Lyons, The Lyon's Den, New York. "It's Nixonian! And like Nixon, Lynden Pindling was as complex a political genius as they come. This is a breakthrough for Bahamian filmmaker Travolta Cooper a young, fresh, innovative, and now important filmmaker on the world scene. I can't wait to see what he does next. Dennis Haysbert is powerful in a performance that's both light in the dark and dark in the light."

Lyons has attended most of the annual BIFF events in the Bahamas, and said he thought a Bahamian film closing the festival shows just how much the film industry in the Bahamas has "matured".

Jeffrey Lyons has extended an invitation for "Black Moses" which stars Dennis Haysbert to play at the San Diego Film Festival which runs from September 24th - 28th. The Black Moses will screen Saturday September 27. Dennis Haysbert will be in attendance.

Director Travolta Cooper said that the film will also open Discovery Day weekend, October 10th in New York, Los Angeles, and at Galleria Cinemas in Nassau and Freeport, including Bimini, Abaco, Andros, and Eleuthera as well...
