Freeport, Grand Bahama -  As the Christmas Season is upon us most times people don't really take the time to sit and enjoy it as they are so busy with the hustle and bustle of the yuletide season. Well this past Sunday, thanks to the fabulous Cooling Waters and the Interdenominational Mass Choir, two of Grand Bahama's leading gospel ministries, many persons on the island were given the opportunity to feel and celebrate the Christmas season days before the holiday.

This musical event dubbed the "Joy of Christmas" was hosted by St. Peter's the Apostle Methodist Church which is a  new Ministry in the Methodist diocese and was held at St. Paul's Methodist Church.

The evening began with welcome and encouraging words from Pastor Kenneth Lewis and was called to order by Mrs. Lolita Montpetit.

Off to a great start, the crowd was entertained by the Methodist Women Choir accompanied by the Harbour Boys Junkanoo group who gave a great rendition of the song "This We Bahamian Praise". They were followed by St. Paul's Methodist Choir.

The concert was taken to another level as Mr. Wilbert Stubbs was introduced to the audience and kept the crowd very excited and involed during the night introducing the rest of the items.

Up next was the Maestro Mr. Ricardo Major who gave a stirring rendition of the "Prayer" on his saxophone. Major received standing ovation following his Christmas treat to those in attendance.

It was at this point that the night went up yet another level as the Bahamas leading choir the Interdenominational Mass Choir under the direction of Mrs. Marleia Pinder and beautifully clad in their tan and burgundy uniforms took the stage. IMC ministered songs of praise, adoration and worship. Closing their segment the choir gave the audience an opportunity to get up and dance with the song "Souled Out" which was directed by Min. Valencia Brown.

The atmosphere was now charged, hyped and ready for what was to come. Feeling the Christmas spirit dressed in red shirts and white pants the Fabulous Cooling Waters ascended to the stage. Ministering like only they can, this legendary group kept the audience on their feet. Crowd favorites included 'God Can', 'Desparately' and 'Joy Bells Are Ringing'. Persons were seen waving flags, scarfs and whatever they could get in their hands as the group closed with the medley "Waiting Down Here By the River" and added some Christmas songs to it.

The night was not over yet as the Interdenominational Mass Choir took to the stage again ministering the song "He's Able" led by Mrs. Tonya Lafleur-Braynen and brought the "Joy of Christmas" evening celebration to a close.
